JDR is looking to recruit two ambitious and motivated Graduate Commercial Engineers to join our team and develop their careers within a dynamic engineering and commercial environment.

These roles offer an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to apply their technical knowledge, develop commercial expertise and gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of engineering projects. Working alongside experienced professionals across engineering, procurement, tendering and project delivery, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation of competitive tenders, accurate cost estimates and commercially sound project proposals.

The two positions will provide opportunities to develop specialist skills in tendering and cost estimating, while building a broader understanding of JDR's commercial operations and business objectives.

  • Coordinating technical and commercial information from relevant departments.
  • Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations and supporting information.
  • Assisting with tender pricing, bid documentation and submission deadlines.
  • Maintaining accurate tender records and supporting post-submission activities.

Graduate Commercial Engineer – Cost Estimating

You will support the preparation of cost estimates and pricing information, helping ensure project costs are accurately assessed and commercially competitive.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and maintaining project cost estimates and pricing breakdowns.
  • Reviewing technical specifications, drawings and other relevant documentation.
  • Analysing material, labour, equipment and supplier costs, as applicable.
  • Obtaining and evaluating supplier quotations.
  • Supporting cost analysis, budget reviews and commercial reporting.
  • Identifying cost risks, discrepancies and potential opportunities for improvement.
