Due to recent internal moves, multiple Test and Termination Technicians are required for our test and termination department in Hartlepool.
The Test and Termination department deals with the assembly of subsea components and hardware as well as electrical and hydraulic testing of all products manufactured within JDR and free issued parts. Reporting to the Test and Termination Team Leader you will be responsible for visual inspection, electrical, hydraulic and optical testing of all functional components verifying conformance of products manufactured within JDR, materials purchased by JDR and free issue parts supplied by customers starting at goods inward’s to final completion at FAT stage.
With an Electrical or Hydraulic background, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Termination, Inspection, and testing of all manufactured products by and within JDR in accordance with individual manufacturing specifications, FAT procedures, quality plans, relevant JQ procedures or any other test criteria laid down by the Design or Quality departments.
- Termination and splicing of power cores using air terminations and T connectors to enable HV testing.
- Completing test documentation and test reports and generating ITQ’s and none conformance reports when necessary.
- The mechanical assembly of termination parts within the specific scope of supply as well as swaging of hydraulic/pneumatic hoses and their integration to stab plates.
- Be competent in the use of different resins/moulding materials and the various preparation techniques currently employed within the termination department to ensure conformance of all products manufactured within the JDR.
- Assist with the training of others to ensure compliance, e.g. New staff/inductions
- Ensure that the machine and working environment is clean and tidy and complies to Health and Safety requirements/policy
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that has an Electrical and/or Hydraulic background with a willingness to learn with a good working attitude and the ability to follow procedures and processes diligently. The ideal candidate will be PC literate with proven experience of fault finding and problem solving. This is a hands-on position within JDR, so a certain degree of physical strength is required to succeed as well as high attention to detail to ensure perfection of the product. A real sense of passion and pride is apparent in this team so a candidate with these characteristics would be ideal. Highly desirable would be the experience of splice activity.
