We are seeking a proactive and experienced Stores Team Leader to oversee warehouse operations within our Blyth manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse staff, ensuring efficient material flow, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining full compliance with UK regulatory and safety standards.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse operatives to achieve high performance and productivity.
- Oversee day to day warehouse operations including goods receiving, storage, inventory management and dispatch.
- Operate and optimise the use of MRP/ERP systems to ensure accurate stock control and material traceability.
- Collaborate with production planning, procurement and logistics to support production schedules and customer deliveries.
- Develop and implement warehouse procedures that align with lean principles and continuous improvement objectives.
- Ensure Compliance with all relevant UK regulations including Health and Safety, environmental standards and industry specific requirements.
- Maintain and enforce appropriate documentation and record keeping for audits and inspections.
- Monitor and report on KPI’s such as inventory accuracy, picking accuracy and on time shipments.
- Identify and address performance issues and support employee engagement initiatives.
Essential to the role is a strong background in team leadership, MRP system operations and warehouse process optimisation. The successful candidate should have proven experience in warehouse leadership within a manufacturing setting, ideally cable manufacturing.
Proficient in using and managing MRP/ERP systems is essential alongside a strong understanding on regulatory compliance related to warehousing, HSE and product traceability.
The candidate should have excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills with a knowledge of Lean / 6S principles and experience in implementing process improvements.
Ideally, the candidate should have a Fork-lift licence and/or experience in operating material handling equipment.
