Are you looking to start your career in operations planning and get hands-on experience in coordinating and supporting day-to-day activities? As an Operations Planning Apprentice, you’ll have the chance to learn from experienced professionals and help ensure the smooth and efficient running of our operations all whilst completing a qualification in Business Administration.
You will play a key role in supporting the planning and scheduling of activities within the facility, helping to make sure that production runs smoothly, and projects are completed on time. You’ll also get to collaborate with different teams and departments to help meet our business objectives and deliver great results.
Your role will include:
- Supporting the conversion of customer orders into a production schedule and ensuring that this information is entered into the company’s ERP scheduling system on a daily/weekly basis.
- Communicating with different teams and stakeholders to provide updates on operations and raise any potential concerns, such as delays, and working to find solutions that keep projects on track.
- Assisting with ensuring resources are used efficiently to optimize production output and supporting the Sales & Operations Planning meetings to keep everyone aligned.
- Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that operations are running efficiently and ensuring that production data, such as manufacturing routings, run times, and materials, are accurately maintained in the system.
- Supporting inventory management and working with the supply chain team to make sure products are available when needed to meet production requirements.
- Taking on additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the team and help improve operations.

- Highly proficient in Word, Excel & Other MS Office Applications
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with different teams.
- An eye for detail and an ability to keep things organised.
- A willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
As an Apprentice, you will earn a competitive apprentice salary for the duration of the scheme. Successful completion of the apprenticeship could then lead to an exciting career within JDR Cable Systems along with the opportunity to undertake further training.
To be considered for these opportunities you must have 4 GCSE grades at level 4 or above including English and Maths and be computer literate. You should have a keen interest in our growing industry and be motivated to achieve results to a level above and beyond what is expected. Hours of work will be 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday.
