Due to the continued growth of the Service team at JDR Cables, we are looking for an experienced and driven Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) to lead the successful delivery of offshore renewables projects. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing offshore cable installation operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will act as the key point of coordination between offshore teams, vessel crews, clients, and subcontractors, playing a vital role in delivering complex offshore wind projects.

This position is offered as a permanent opportunity and is not available on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all offshore operations related to cable pull-in, termination, and testing activities onboard vessels.
  • Ensure full compliance with project HSE standards, permit-to-work systems, and company procedures.
  • Act as the main point of contact between client representatives, vessel management, JDR personnel, and subcontractors.
  • Manage SIMOPS activities relating to JDR operations.
  • Monitor operational progress, resolve challenges, and provide daily reports to onshore management.
  • Capture and report external constraints impacting project timelines.
  • Oversee completion of all as-built documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Manage offshore team rota, ensuring competency, certification, and project compliance.
  • Lead emergency response activities, drills, and promote a strong offshore safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with offshore legislation, lifting operations standards, and marine coordination requirements.
  • Uphold company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards at all times

 

Experience & Skills:

The ideal candidate will bring extensive offshore experience, with a minimum of 10 years in the industry including at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing installation or cable operations. You will have a proven track record in managing offshore wind cable pull-in, termination, and testing campaigns, alongside a strong understanding of marine operations and HSE management systems. Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills are essential, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and coordinate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary subcontractor teams.

A proactive approach to safety, strong reporting capabilities, and experience in risk assessment and incident management are key to success in this role.
