As our exciting expansion into Cambois, Blyth continues to gain momentum, we are now recruiting for a Maintenance Team Lead.
The Maintenance Team Lead will be responsible for the maintenance team, setting KPI’s and ensuring delivery against the business objectives. The purpose of the role is to maximise plant availability whilst ensuring department personnel are working within the established company and legislative procedures, with particular reference to Heath, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Ensure the Health & Safety of departmental personnel by creating a robust culture of Health & Safety within the department, with adherence to company and legislative procedures and standards.
- Ensure that the quality of work provided by the department is to the highest standard, following good engineering practices at all times.
- Maximise plant availability and efficiency by ensuring all PPM schedules created, maintained and modified according to OEM manuals and historical data, completing RCA on repeat failures, providing proactive breakdown cover, ensuring effective stock of critical spares and consumables are available for all machines and ensuring sufficient service contracts are in place to cover the plant.
- Create and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring communication is effective maintaining a high degree of teamwork and departmental efficiency.
- Coaching and developing of maintenance personnel, carrying out regular 1-2-1’s, development of personal development plans, identifying training requirements, driving business and department KPI’s ensuring maintenance personnel are aware of how they play their part.
- Upkeep of the computerised maintenance management system, creating assets, creating and / or modifying task lists, adding parts, vendors or removing where required.
- Continuous improvement to drive site standards, maintenance methodologies including condition based and predictive maintenance keeping an eye on the latest maintenance trends.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in a similar position with experience of leading, supervising, motivating and developing a maintenance team.
To be successful in the role, the candidate will have proven experience to analyse and interpret data from relevant systems in order to minimise repeat faults or improve maintenance standards.
It is essential that the candidate is Qualified to a minimum of HND in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical or Production).
It would be desirable that the candidate has experience of machine installation and commissioning, maintenance setup as well as the creation of standard operating procedures and risk assessments.
