As JDR's exciting expansion into Cambois, Blyth continues to gain momentum, we are looking to recruit a Draughtsperson to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the startup of JDR’s brand new facility.
As the Draughtsperson at our Blyth facility, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the site's technical drawings register. The role requires Collaboration with maintenance, projects and process engineering to develop, modify and maintain site drawings ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practice.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Control all site drawings (civil, architectural, M&E, P&ID, machine electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic etc)
- Complete modifications to drawings in a controlled manner
- Maintain accurate records of all drawings, revisions and related documentation to comply with industry standards
- Assist is creating drawings for future site expansion
- Assist with FEED studies
- Development and maintenance of 2D & 3D models of site
- Produce / reverse engineer drawings for machine tooling
- Review of supplier technical drawings for accuracy and completeness
- Identify potential design issues / flaws / conflicts and propose solutions to enhance functionality or manufacturability
- Provide draughting support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept through production and installation phases
- Create and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring communication is effective maintaining a high degree of teamwork and departmental efficiency.
- Ensure the Health & Safety of departmental personnel by creating a robust culture of Health & Safety within the department, with adherence to company and legislative procedures and standards
- In addition to the above responsibilities, the role holder is required to undertake such duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required from time to time.
It is essential that you are proficient in the use of 2D & 3D drawing software including one or more of AutoCAD, Solidworks, Navisworks among others. It is also necessary to be a competent user of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ideally, you will be qualified to a minimum of HND in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical or Production).
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience working as a Draughtsperson in a relevant field. It is essential to have exceptional organisational skills, and communication skills both verbal and written.
