We are looking for a Contracts Specialist to join our Contracts team to deal with the review of customer terms and conditions of contracts relating to the purchase of all JDR's products and services.

In this role, you will provide essential legal and commercial support across a broad range of matters, including disputes, claims, and contract preparation. You will play a key role in reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts that support our operations within the Offshore Wind, Tidal, and Oil & Gas industries

As part of a small and supportive team you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing customer enquiries relating to the purchase of JDR products and provide commercial input.
  • Analysing and advising on contract terms and conditions, identifying and communicating JDR’s exceptions.
  • Conducting contract negotiations with customers to reach mutually acceptable terms while minimising commercial and legal risks.
  • Supporting bid submissions with commercial insight and assisting in finalising contracts with customers.
  • Reviewing customer purchase orders and preparing documentation for order processing and handover to Project Services.
  • Liaising with external legal advisors to obtain up-to-date legal guidance and mitigating potential contractual risks.
  • Undertaking additional commercial and contractual duties as required by the business.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in reviewing and managing terms and conditions of contracts, with strong administrative abilities and proficiency in current software packages such as Microsoft Office. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with the ability to remain calm under pressure and produce accurate work within tight deadlines while maintaining a keen attention to detail. Experience within an engineering environment would be advantageous but is not essential. A qualified Solicitor or an individual holding a formal legal qualification is preferred, although equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.

You should be ideally located in a commutable distance to one of our offices: Littleport (Cambridgeshire) or Newcastle.
